Crochet Baby Romper Jumpsuit
I bought white and beige fluffy soft yarn in the store and knew, I would make something special with it. Beautiful soft baby romper came out. I thought it was worth sharing. This lovely baby romper is a great wardrobe addition for your little baby. It makes a great photo prop or gift and also would be great for everyday wear. Give your baby a new sense of style with this cute romper.
Skill level: intermediate
I used: white and beige fine yarn, called Nako Paris
3 mm crochet hook
2 small buttons (2 cm diameter)
2 big buttons (3 cm diameter)
Size: This romper fits 6-9 month baby
Full length: 35 cm
Stitches used: ch - chain
dc - double crochet
sl st - slip stitch
dec - decrease - dc 2 together
Start with upper part of the front side:
Row 1: Chain 32 (multiple of 2) - This first chain is the width of the upper part, it's about 18 cm.
Note: I always start with chainless foundation row, because starting chain has a different tension than the rest of the project. This problem is eliminated with foundation stitches. If you start with chainless double crochet foundation row, make 31 stitches and skip 2nd row.
Row 2: double crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain. (31)
Row 3: Chain 3, turn, dc in same space where chain 3 was made, skip next 2 stitches, (3 dc in next stitch, skip 2) repeat across. 2 dc in last stitch.
Row 4: Ch3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 30 (31)
Row 5 - Row 10: repeat rows 3 and 4.
length of my upper part (white) is about 10 cm.
Change color.
With Beige:
Continue in rounds
Round 1: chain 3, dc in same space, dc in next 29, 2 dc in last (33),
Chain 43, sl st to top of first chain 3 (77)
Round 2: Chain 2, dc in same space, dc in next 32 dc, dc in next 43 chains, slip stitch to first dc (not chain 2) (77)
Round 3- round 9: chain 2, dc in same space, dc in next 76, slip stitch to first dc (not chain 2). (77)
Continue in rows
Front lower part:
Row 1: Ch3 (here and on doesn't count as a dc), decrease (dc next 2 together), dc in next 34 dc, dec (36) turn
Row 2: Ch3, dec, dc in 31, dec last 2 (33), turn
Row 3: Ch3, dec, dc in next 28, dec (30), turn
(In each row 3 stitches are decreased, because we are skipping chain 3 stitch)
Row 4: ch3, dec, dc in next 25, dec (27), turn
Row 5: ch3, dec, dc in next 22, dec (24), turn
Row 6: ch3, dec, dc in next 19, dec (21), turn
Row 7: ch3, dec, dc in next 16, dec (18), turn
Row 8: ch3, dec, dc in next 13, dec (15), turn
Row 9: ch3, dec, dc in next 10, dec (12), turn
Row 10: ch3, dc in next 11
Fasten Off
Back lower part:
Rejoin yarn next to stitch, where first chain 3 of front lower part was made
Row 1: Ch3 (here and on doesn't count as a dc), dc in next 37, until you reach front part stitches (37)
Row 2: Ch3, turn, dc in next 36, don't dc in chain 3 stitch (36)

Row 9: Ch3, turn, dec, dc 11, dec (13)
Row 10: Ch3, turn, dc in 12 (12)
Row 11: Ch3, turn, dc in 11 (11)
Don't Fasten Off and continue ribbing around leg holes.
Ribbing:
Turn your romper and sc in last double crochet where you left off.
Chain 4, sc in 2nd chain from hook and in next 2 chain (3 sc), (sc in next stitch on the body (next to last double), sc in next stitch, turn, sc in back loops of chain 3, chain 1, turn, sc in back loops of chain 3) Repeat same actions to the direction shown in the picture above.
Here it is shown in the pictures:
sc in last double crochet where you left off
Chain 4
sc in 2nd chain from hook and in next 2 chain (3 sc)
(sc in next stitch on the body (next to last double)
sc in next stitch
turn, sc in back loops of chain 3
I made small video, because it is too hard to explain with words.
When you finish first leg hole ribbing, slip stitch through front lower part and make second leg hole ribbing, slip stitch in back lower part. Fasten Off.
